Hey guys,

If you’ve been following me online you’ll know that I just got back from not one but TWO worldwind trips to Venice and London.

Venice was the absolute dream. It’s just out of this world. Every time I visit Italy I fall more in love with the country, but Venice in particular was just so different to anywhere I’ve ever been before. It’s rustic, romantic and just so relaxing. There’s nothing I love more than wandering down narrow streets and finding hidden gems when I’m travelling and that’s exactly what Venice is amazing for.

I went with 8 of my friends from Limerick, which was so nice. The older we get, the busier we all get so it was so nice to have some quality time and lols together.

We visited two of Venice’s gorgeous islands, Murano and Burano. Can you believe Venice is actually made up of a total of 118 islands? Burano is literally the most colourful, beautiful place I’ve ever been to. A bold statement I know, but I just loved it so much. As there was 9 of us on the trip, we were able to afford a private water taxi which is a set rate of €120. The public water buses are €7.50 each way, but take a little bit longer.

I flew with Ryanair into Treviso Airport, and although getting into the city is very easy from here (30-40 min bus for €10-€12) the airport itself is quite small and crowded. It definitely wasn’t the nicest airport I’ve ever been to, but if you are trying to keep costs down, flights here are less expensive than to Venice’s main airport ‘Marco Polo’.

Foodwise – I don’t think I need to advise anyone on this in Italy. Pizza, pasta, gelato – everywhere you turn. You just can’t go wrong. I would stay away from the main tourist area around ‘St Marks Square’ when you’re eating though as prices are MUCH higher here. We looked at one restaurant that charged €14 for a coffee!!! The side streets have restaurants that much better value and I found the atmosphere is actually nicer in them.

I was only there for 2 days this time, so I will definitely have to go back, do more exploring and experience a gondola ride. It’s the kind of city I think would be pretty at any time of year… so it’s back on my list again haha!

From Venice I flew straight to London to join the Kevin Murphy gang: Kieran, Lisa, Rosie and Niamh. In 24 hours we managed to fit in: a Take That concert, a feast of a dinner, a night out in Makiki, each of us got blow dries and got to dry the new Shimmer Me Blonde shine spray AND we got to have lunch with the lovely Lydia Elise Millen in Somerset House. Wooh! I’m out of breath after typing that. What a fun day!!!

The Shimmer Me Blonde spray is amazing and multi-functional as you can use it to make your hair extra shiny but also to give your skin a gorgeous glow. I will be using it all over my body all summer long!!! It’s €24 and can be ordered online from kevinmurphystore.com.

I have a YouTube video to come with all the behind the Instagram action of my two trips haha – so stay tuned for that,

In the meantime here are some snaps I took while I was away,

Talk soon,

Lou x
